Welcome to Merritt Guest House!
We are Marc and Julie, we have had Merritt guest house since April 2023, we are loving it! we have met so many lovely guests, a lot who keep coming back ' We must be doing something right'.
Our Motto is 'Arrive as guests, leave as Friends'
We are in a central position close to Paignton sea front, Harbour and town centre. And a 5 minute walk from the train station and the bus station. So park your car and enjoy a stress and drive free stay. All pubs and restaurants are also a short walk away.
We offer a homely atmosphere with delicious breakfasts. Enjoy a cozy night’s sleep in one of our seven comfortable bedrooms designed for your comfort. All of which have en-suite shower facilities, 32” Smart TV, complementary toiletries, fluffy towels, well stocked hospitality tray, fan, ironing facilities in every bedroom, super fast WiFi with good connection throughout the house, blackout curtains and more
Single Room
Our single room has been fully decorated to a high standard, with the aim of keeping each room fresh and individual.
Double En-Suite
We have two double rooms. Room 3 is situated at the rear of Merritt House overlooking Queens Park, which enjoys the evening sun and views over the park to the steam railway.
King Room with En-Suite Shower
Our King room which has been newly decorated, also boasts a brand new en-suite shower room. Situated at the rear of Merritt House overlooking Queens park, it enjoys the evening sun and views of the steam railway.
King Superior Room with En-suite Shower
We have two King Superior en-suite rooms which can be booked as either a Twin or as a Super-King.
Merritt House is less than five minutes’ level walk to the bus, mainline and steam railway stations in a quiet street off the main roads, and is on the South West Coast Path.
Enjoy the Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway, fishing trips, bay cruises, local golf courses, swimming pool/fitness centre, local 'blue flag' beaches, outdoor tennis courts, and local restaurants/pubs. Walkers, cyclists, diving and sailing enthusiasts are welcome to take advantage of our drying room for boots and other wet gear.
Merritt House is a great base for enjoying the best of Paignton, Torquay, Brixham, Dartmoor National Park and south west coastal path. Devon, South West England.
